- and unbelievable as it is (bc i ALMOST FORGOT), i am adding this last (thing about drafts, you can go back and add stuff where you think its appropriate), but MY TRIP TO BARCELONA, SPAIN in late February totally inspired me to be more open to the great and wonderful world of art, culture, food and interesting people out there in this fascinating and beautiful world!! (that's me above on a mosaic MIRO installed in Barcelona).
- attended Team Trek in Arkansas with Leadership Germantown,
- Leadership Germantown sessions on Education and Quality of Life,
- ramping up my online presence and started my new professional blog, Strategic Nonprofit Management,
- read some very thought-provoking books to challenge the typical "faith-based" notion of community involvement (Spiritual Bankruptcy: A Prophetic Call to Action by John B. Cobb, Jr. and The Abundant Community by Peter Block and John McKnight),
- self-study (directed by work with Amy Moritz and CTC) on how Appreciative Inquiry can help with interviewing people,
- attended the Assisi Foundation's program presented by Ruby Payne on "Bridges out of Poverty",
- actively using Twitter (@TennESheeLa) to review "hot topics" in the nonprofit arena,
- actively reviewing the web to research best communications/marketing practices for nonprofits,
- participated in CTC's continuing community discussion about possibilities and gifts,
- wrote a grant proposal for a new program (new to Memphis but successful across the country) to help reduce levels of poverty called The Circles® Campaign
- attended the Urban Summit at Christ United Methodist Church TODAY....It was terrific!
IT's ONLY APRIL! THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT ELSE I CAN LEARN THIS YEAR!?!?!?
